Battery Saving features

  • Eco-Mode (On/Off) switched On pauses the Second Hand between the hours of 11:00pm until 5:00am. Hour and Minute hands still move. This allows you to save battery life!
  • Q-Mode (Manual Set) option - On the rare occasion, if atomic signal cannot be reached switch DST tab to Off (Q-set) and set the Time Zone tab to Q-Mode. Once hands have reset to 4:00, 8:00, or 12:00 position, you can manually set time by using the Set button.

FAQ'S & TIPS!

Power Requirements: 2 or 4 “C” LR14, IEC 1.5V batteries

Battery Life in Eco-Mode: 2 “C” batteries (up to 3 years); 4 “C” batteries (up to 5 years with reputable batteries)

Battery replacement instruction:

  • When batteries of different brand or type are used together, or new and old batteries are used together, some batteries may be over-discharged due to a difference of voltage or capacity. This can result in venting, leakage, and rupture and may cause personal injury. Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery suitable for the intended use. Always replace the whole set of batteries at one time, taking care not to mix old and new ones, or batteries of different types. Clean the battery contacts and those of the device prior to battery installation. Ensure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -). Remove batteries from product during periods of non-use. Battery leakage can cause corrosion and damage to this product.

POWER UP

1. Slide the Time Zone Switch to your time zone. PT = Pacific, MT = Mountain, CT = Central, ET = Eastern

2. Select DST (Daylight Saving Time) setting ON/OFF. When ON is selected, the clock will automatically adjust for DST (most common).

3. Insert at least two fresh “C” batteries into the center battery compartments. Additional batteries will extend battery life. Important: Be sure all batteries are of the same voltage level. Note: When batteries are installed, the hands will move to the 4, 8, or 12 o’clock position and remain there until the WWVB transmission is picked up. Once the signal is received, the hands will move to the correct time according to your time zone and DST settings.

MANUAL TIME SET

1. Set the DST Switch to OFF (Q-Set) and the Time Zone Switch to Q-Mode. The hands will move to the 4, 8, or 12 o’clock position.

2. Press and release the Set Button to adjust the time slowly, or hold the Set Button to adjust quickly.

3. When at your current time, slide the DST Switch to the ON (Q-Run) position. The second hand will start running from 12:00 and the clock will keep time manually unaffected by the WWVB atomic signal.

CUSTOM TIME ZONE SETTINGS

  • Select time zones from +0 GMT to -11 GMT.
  • 1. Slide the Time Zone Switch to the ET (Custom) position and wait until the hands set to Eastern Time. 2. Press and release the Set Button to advance the hands in one hour increments until you reach your desired time. 3. The clock will keep time from this new setting.

LOW BATTERY INDICATOR

  • When your batteries are running low, the second hand will stop and remain at the 6 o’clock position until new batteries are installed.
